Bashorun Askia Foundation, BAF, a Non-Governmental Organization has donated food items worth millions of naira to commercial Motorcycles and Tricycle Riders in Isoko nation to cushion the effect of the lockdown directives by the Delta State government.
The Delta State Government have has further announced another 14 days lockdown over the unabated spread of Coronavirus pandemic also know as COVID -19.
The President of the Foundation, Bashorun Askia Ogieh while presenting the items at IDU secretariat in Oleh, Isoko South said, “The Okada and Keke Riders are set of people greatly affected as a result of the Lockdown because they belong to the set of people who live on daily work unlike monthly salary earners.
The Bashorun Askia Foundation is presenting these items to the Delta State Commercial Motorcycle & Tricycle Operators Association popularly known as Okada and Keke Riders, and Non-Indigenes in Isoko South and North LGAs, to help cushion the effect of the Lockdown caused by the Coronavirus.
Receiving the food items on behalf of the Okada and Keke Riders, the Chairman of Isoko North Chapter of the Association Comrade Aboma Victor expressed deep appreciation for the kind gesture and offered pryers for the UDU of Isoko Nation.
The Foundation also presented 100 bags of Rice, 100 Cartons of Indomie Noodles and 100 Gallons of Groundnut Oil to the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Isoko South and North LGA which was received by the Anglican Bishop of Oleh Diocese, Rt. Rev. John Aruakpor with prayers from the clergymen present.
On his part, The President General of IDU, High Chief Iduh Amadhe on behalf of the Isoko people expressed gratitude to the DESOPADEC MD/CEO praying God to replenish his pocket a million folds.
Dignitaries present at the presentation include, President General of IDU, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, Isoko North LGA Council Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor and his Isoko South counterpart who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Obrogo Dennis Kola JP.
Others are Members representing Isoko South Constituency I & II at Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Kenneth Ogba and Honest Ferguson Ajiroghene Onwo.
